Best of the Fest (and the Rest)

The next installment of our regular feature Best of the Fest (and the Rest) and this week it’s the turn of Cathy Birch, Programme Manager: Learning & Participation

With a fantastic first week of the Winter Festival nearly at its end I’m already looking forward to what’s coming up in January (after some much needed rest and celebration, of course!) After their beautiful and spirited performance on Monday I’m excited to hear what La Nuova Musica have to offer in Monteverdi Explored, a concert designed for those of primary school age, in which they’ll create an experience to illuminate the life and times of Monteverdi alongside presenter Sam Glazer, a regular artist and workshop leader in Learning and Participation at Spitalfields Music.

After a long lie in on Sunday I’ll be heading just up the road to Rich Mix to hear the Aron Ghosh Indo Jazz Sextet playing songs from his Northern Namaste album. His music always has something special to offer, and we’re big fans here at Spitalfields Music after his performance in The Calling all the way back in the Summer Festival.
