Retelling a Greek myth through contemporary music and puppetry

London Sinfonietta

At the World’s Edge with musicians from London Sinfonietta, composer Elspeth Brooke, director Anna Jones and puppetry from Seonaid Goody.

Take a look behind the scenes of this exciting collaboration between contemporary musicians and puppeteers, and see if you can spot one cheeky puppet trying to play with the instruments!

At the World’s Edge began as part of London Sinfonietta’s inaugural Blue Touch Paper programme. The collaboration was initiated to promote inter-disciplinary work between artists. Composed for chamber trio, electronic soundscape and puppeteers, the piece retells the tale of Persephone’s descent into the Underworld and her mother’s epic search to get her back.

See the production on Wednesday 19 June at the Village Underground. There are two performances, 6.30pm-7.30pm & 8.30pm-9.30pm, and tickets can be booked via our website or on the door. The performance at our Summer Festival is part of its UK tour.
