Spoken word artist Kate Tempest’s award-winning work Brand New Ancients will be coming to Shoreditch Church, St Leonard’s, on Monday 16 December at 8:00pm.

Blending theatre, spoken word and live music, Brand New Ancients follows the lives of two London families, uncovering the gods of today which live among us. Kate Tempest’s raw energy and passion brings these heartfelt tales to life, creating a compelling story of love, life and loss. The performance will include a live score played by a vibrant quartet of violin, cello, tuba and percussion providing an emotive soundtrack for the victories and defeats of her everyday heroes.

The show has already won the Ted Hughes Poetry Award 2013 and the Herald Angel Award 2013, and has even been published in book form by Picador!
