We’re massive fans of composer Emily Hall’s music. Acclaimed for clarity and directness it’s delighted audiences at past festivals with inventive sound worlds, and we’re thrilled to welcome her as an Associate Artist this June.
Much of Emily’s work is forged through close relationships with singers and writers. This festival two new works see her collaborate with Icelandic writer Sjón to explore love and madness in Folie à Deux, previewed at our Winter Festival in 2014, and visual artist Caroline Bergvall in a new work for choir (Women sing East).
Emily also welcomes a number of artists and friends to Rich Mix in a weekend curation, Sound Among Sounds.
We caught up with Emily during out Summer Festival photo shoot at Millwall Dock to ask her more about her work and the projects she’s working on this Summer Festival.
